Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the lawful use of Fortress Freedom Phone Ltd's devices, Freedom Fone accounts, telephone numbers, calling, messaging, forwarding and broadcast features. By creating an account, placing an order or using a service, you agree to this policy.
1. Intended use
Fortress supplies hardened mobile devices and internet-based calling and messaging tools for lawful personal and business communications, including:
- Business confidentiality — commercial sensitivity, M&A, IP-heavy work, executive communications.
- Legal privilege — solicitors, barristers, in-house counsel handling privileged matters.
- Journalistic source protection.
- Personal safety — protection from stalkers, harassers, or hostile non-state actors.
- Individual privacy — customers who prefer not to participate in consumer-carrier telemetry collection.
- Separating work, travel, marketplace and personal communications using additional numbers.
2. Prohibited use
The following uses are strictly prohibited. We will refuse to sell, suspend service, or terminate accounts where any of the following are reasonably suspected:
- Use intended to evade lawful investigation by UK authorities or by the authorities of any other jurisdiction with which the United Kingdom has lawful cooperation.
- Any criminal activity, including fraud, money laundering, drug-related offences, theft, terrorism, child sexual exploitation, modern slavery, or any other offence under UK law.
- Harassment, stalking, doxxing, threats, intimidation, or coercion of any individual.
- Unsolicited commercial communications, spam, robocalling, voice phishing (vishing), SMS phishing (smishing), traffic pumping, artificial inflation of traffic, or bulk messaging without a lawful basis and recipient permission.
- Number-spoofing, calling-line-identification fraud, or impersonation of any individual or organisation.
- Account-registration or verification farms; repeatedly obtaining numbers to evade another service's rules; selling verification codes; or promising that a number will be accepted by WhatsApp, a bank, a social network or any other third party.
- Trying to bypass rate limits, carrier filtering, spend controls, suspension, number requirements or any technical protection of the service.
- Introducing malware; probing or attacking the app, API, hosting, carrier or another account; harvesting contact details; or accessing data without permission.
- Any use that breaches Ofcom's General Conditions of Entitlement or any obligation imposed on Fortress as a UK communications operator.
- Resale, sublicensing, brokering, pooling or transfer of an account, number or device configuration to another person without our written consent.
- Reverse-engineering, tampering with, or attempting to circumvent the security configuration of supplied devices for any purpose other than the customer's own legitimate use.
3. Your responsibilities
- Keep account credentials secure and promptly report suspected compromise.
- Use accurate account and country-presence information where a supported number requires it.
- For broadcasts or promotional messages, contact only recipients who consented or where another lawful basis clearly applies, identify yourself where required, and honour opt-outs promptly.
- Do not share, sell or transfer rented numbers or use them on behalf of undisclosed third parties.
- Follow the laws of the sender, recipient and number countries as well as carrier and app-store rules.
Normal Freedom Fone signup does not require a government identity document, selfie or proof of address. We may leave a country or number type unavailable if its carrier or legal requirements are incompatible with the standard service.
4. Termination & suspension
We may suspend or terminate any service immediately, with or without notice, where:
- The customer breaches, or is reasonably suspected of breaching, this AUP;
- We receive a valid legal order requiring suspension or termination;
- Continued provision of the service would expose Fortress, our wholesale partners, or third parties to a credible legal, regulatory, or safety risk;
- Payment is overdue beyond the grace period set out in our terms.
On termination for breach, consumed usage and irrecoverable carrier periods are not refundable unless mandatory law requires otherwise. Any unused future service is handled under our Cancellation and Refund Policy and applicable law. A handset purchased outright remains the customer's property unless a valid legal order says otherwise.
Where it is safe and lawful, we will identify the affected feature or general reason for a restriction and provide a support route. Carrier filtering and upstream suspension can sometimes occur before Fortress receives a detailed reason. We do not promise that prohibited or unsafe traffic will be restored.
5. Cooperation with lawful authorities
Fortress Freedom Phone Ltd is a UK-registered limited company and complies with valid legal process in the United Kingdom, including but not limited to court orders, production orders, preservation requests, and obligations under the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 and the Data Protection Act 2018. We will produce information lawfully required of us, limited by what we hold under our data-minimisation practices.
6. Reporting abuse
If you believe a Fortress number or service is being used in breach of this AUP — for example to harass you, defraud you, or threaten you — please contact us immediately by email or Telegram. We treat abuse reports as urgent and will investigate promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active customers by email at the address held on file. Continued use of the service after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
