Delete your Freedom Fone account
You can permanently delete your account from the Freedom Fone app or request deletion here if you no longer have access to it.
Delete in the app
- Open Account & privacy.
- Release every rented telephone number. Released numbers may be reassigned, so remove them from important accounts first.
- Select Delete account, read the warning and confirm.
Delete without the app
Email us from the address registered to your Freedom Fone account. Use the button below; it creates an email with the correct subject. Do not send a password, payment-card number or identity document.
Request account deletionWe may ask for proportionate account verification before processing the request. We normally complete verified requests within seven days and will confirm when deletion is complete; a legal obligation may require us to retain the limited records described below.
Delete selected data without deleting your account
You do not need to close your Freedom Fone account to remove selected app data:
- Delete individual conversations in Messages, or choose an automatic message-retention setting in Account & privacy. Changing the setting applies it to existing eligible messages.
- If you enabled encrypted cloud contact recovery, open Contacts and delete the cloud backup. You can separately remove contacts restored to your device.
- Recent-call metadata is automatically scheduled for physical deletion by Freedom Fone after 24 hours.
If you cannot use the app, email [email protected] from your registered address and identify the data you want removed. Do not send your password, payment-card number or identity document. We may retain limited records only where the law or an active dispute requires it.
Subscriptions and numbers
Deleting Freedom Fone does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Cancel it separately in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings to prevent renewal. We will help release active Freedom Fone numbers during a verified web request.
What is deleted
Fortress deletes communications, routing information, device registrations, login sessions and directly identifying account data. Limited transaction and accounting records may be retained where required for tax, chargebacks, fraud prevention or legal claims. Telnyx, downstream carriers, Apple, Google and RevenueCat control their own records and retention periods.
See the Privacy Policy for details. Account deletion cannot recall SMS already delivered through the public telephone network or recover a released number.
